Bringback Our Girls Rally in Kano

 

For the third time, Kano-based Civil Society Organizations under the auspices of the Coalition of Kano state Civil Society Groups organized #BringBackourGirls sit-in rally at Race course, Kano.

The rally which took place on the 29th May 2014 around 11:00am coincides with Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration. The highlights of the event were short speeches delivered by Civil Society activists, such as Prof. Muhammad Tabiu, Hajiya Amina Hanga, Religious leaders, Representative of Federation of Muslim Women of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Representative of International Federation of Women Lawyers, and Representative of students’ Union and host of others. The speakers were unanimous in their demand that Federal Government should bring back the abducted Chibok girls to their parents. The rally was graced by some “young activists” who were also holding some placards containing various messages such as:
