The Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health at Scale supported the State Ministry of Health (SMoH) and State Primary Health Care Management Board (SPHCMB) in organising the Primary Health Care Investments Submit (PHCIS) this July the 27th, 2021. The theme of the Submit being “Strengthening Primary Health Care towards Attainment of Universal Health Coverage through full Implementation of Minimum Service Package (MSP)” in Kano State.
In attendance, at this summit was His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Executive Governor Kano State, majority leader house of representative, deputy Speaker state house of assembly and representative of the minister of health, other dignitaries at the ceremony were the commissioners for health, rural development and other Government officials that included some permanent secretaries, Executive Secretary SPHCDB, heads of agencies from the health sector, representatives of Kano state Emirate Councils and development partners working in the State like the BMGF, dRPC-PAS WHO GAVI, UNICEF, CHAI, UK Lifiya and students from health training institutions of the State.
The primary objective of this summit was to showcase the current situation of PHC activities in Kano State and to launch the state appeal funds for the full implementation of the minimum service package (MSP) as well as to distribute offers of appointments to the 44 newly recruited Medical Officer of health to work at the LGA levels by Kano State Government. As such the thematic areas of the submit were: Primary Health Care as a Vehicle for achieving Universal Health Coverage and Achieving Universal health Coverage through full implementation of minimum Service package (MSP).
The outcome of this summit included the dissemination of the MSP Investment plan to wide range stakeholders and philanthropists and realization of about N100,000,000.00 Million for the implementation of the MSP.
