One year after the PAS project, PAS CSOs in five states continue to shape the health sector priorities of the incoming government. Their agenda-setting activities leveraged their expertise, community-based networks, and evidence-based advocacy to shape the government’s agenda and ensure it reflects the population’s diverse needs.

 Kano state-1st August 2023

The Kano PAS Coalition led by WIM-PAS advocated to Dr. Abubakar Yusuf, Honorable Commissioner of Health in Kano state, to present the PAS MNCH/PHC scorecard, budget analysis, and research data for agenda setting for Kano state. This data, with recommendations, provided an overview of last year’s Kano state fiscal and PHC performance.

Kaduna State-25th July 2023
Kaduna PAS CSO Coalition presented a 6-point agenda for PHC/MNCH to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State on strategies for the sustainability of the three-year Primary Health Care Memorandum of Understanding (PHC-MoU) set to end in 2023.

IIGES-PAS presents PHC scorecard findings to the Executive Secretary Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency to set the agenda-2nd August 2023 at the state steering committee on BHCPF in the Ministry of Health, chaired by the Perm Sec Alh Adamu Mansur and with the Executive Secretary Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Hamza Abubakar. The findings highlight an independent accountability process by civil society working to ensure the fulfillment of commitments by the executives for Kaduna state PHCs through implementing the PHCUOR policy.
