About the Position
The Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) is inviting applications for the position of Senior Finance & Budget Officer (Consultant). As a key member of ADEA’s Secretariat, the successful candidate will provide leadership in budgeting and financial management, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective implementation of ADEA’s core business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budget planning and implementation across ADEA’s Secretariat and Inter-Country Quality Nodes (ICQNs).
- Ensure sound financial management and compliance with African Development Bank (AfDB) regulations.
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and disbursements.
- Provide financial insights to support resource mobilization.
- Supervise and advise on administrative and HR-related matters.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline, plus CPA/CA certification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial management.
- Strong expertise in grants management, internal controls, and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills in English or French (with working knowledge of the other).
- Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Office, and ideally SAP.

Duty Station: Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire
Duration: 12 months (renewable, based on performance)
