Art4Change Storytelling Fellowship 2026

About the Fellowship

The Art4Change Storytelling Fellowship is implemented by the Africa-Europe Innovation Platform (AEIP) in partnership with The African Youth Café. Running from June to December 2026, it brings together a cohort of young creatives to explore how storytelling can shape narratives around innovation, community development, and social impact. Fellows will work on real-world storytelling projects that highlight how young people are developing and applying ideas to solve local and global challenges. All selected participants will have their work published on a shared digital platform, ensuring wide visibility.

What the Programme Offers

Participants selected for the fellowship will receive:

  • Structured training in digital storytelling and multimedia production
  • One-on-one mentorship and editorial support from experienced practitioners
  • A monthly stipend to support content creation and fieldwork expenses
  • Access to a collaborative platform for publishing and showcasing work
  • Opportunities to build a professional portfolio of published stories
  • Cross-regional peer learning and networking opportunities

Fellowship Activities

Throughout the six-month programme, fellows will:

  • Participate in online training sessions on storytelling techniques and content development
  • Develop and publish stories based on real experiences and community research
  • Collaborate with peers across different regions and creative disciplines
  • Contribute regularly to a shared digital storytelling platform
  • Produce multimedia content including articles, photo essays, videos, and podcasts

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Be based in Africa, Europe, or the diaspora
  • Have an interest in storytelling, media, or digital content creation
  • Demonstrate passion for documenting youth innovation and community solutions
  • Be available for the full duration of the six-month programme

Interested candidates are required to complete an online application form and submit a short proposal outlining the story or theme they intend to explore during the fellowship. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for further review.
