About the Internship
The Afreximbank Internship Programme offers students and young professionals the opportunity to gain practical experience in African trade finance, economic development, and international banking. Through the programme, interns work alongside professionals across the Afreximbank Group, contributing to projects that support intra-African trade and economic transformation.
Interns will gain exposure to the Bank’s operations, structured trade finance model, and development initiatives while building professional and technical skills in a multicultural environment.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme at a recognised institution;
- Be studying fields such as economics, finance, accounting, business administration, law, engineering, statistics, social sciences, or related disciplines;
- Be nationals of Afreximbank member states, Africans in the diaspora, or non-African students aligned with the Bank’s mission;
- Be between 20 and 32 years old in the year of application;Be fluent in English or French, with working knowledge of the other language.
- Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is an added advantage.
Internship Benefits
Successful interns will receive:
- A monthly tax-free stipend of USD 1,000;
- A housing allowance of USD 500 for interns relocating internationally;
- Return travel support to the internship location;
- One-week hotel accommodation during induction;
- Visa support where required.
