Our work in the Northeast covers: – conducting scoping missions for prospective education impact investors as well as monitoring and evaluation of donor funded education projects; capacity strengthening of local CSOs delivering education projects, running safe school spaces and hosting TVET demonstration centers. Our work also includes research on education as reparative justice for survivors and their children with funding from the Global Survivors Fund and studies on Conjugal Slavery in War with funding from York University Canada. The dRPC also supported local hospital-based NGOs to pioneer the establishment and management of child play centers in pediatric units in secondary and tertiary hospitals. With funding from Grand Challenges Canada and USAID/Nigeria the dRPC identified and trained 25 Muslim Opinion Leaders from 4 Northeastern states to attend the dRPC’s Muslim Opinion Leaders for Gender Equality including girls’ education at the he International Islamic Center for Population Studies and Research (IICPSR) at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. The dRPC first became active in the Northeast humanitarian space since 2003 with our first grant for Chad basin poverty studies from ACCORD, France. Since that time, we have been supported by USAID, MacArthur Foundation, IDS Sussex with funding from FCDO, Grand Challenges Canada, the Ford Foundation and most recently by GIZ to carry out impactful projects with a strong focus on women and girls as cross cutting themes. All our projects also apply participatory and inclusive approaches to co-create innovative interventions with interlocutors, including displaced persons.
