Coalition of CSO working under the PAS pays Advocacy visit to Permanent Secretary, Lagos state ministry of health, Dr. Titilayo Goncalves to press for increased funding to the health Sector, especially with respect to family planning and routine immunisation.
The sum of N30 million has been appropriated for Family Planning services for the 2019 fiscal year in Taraba State. Despite the good news, no releases have so far been made under that Subhead for disbursement to the relevant MDAs for Family Planning activities. This is to say that the Advocacy Core Group still has the onerous task of following up the relevant government bodies to ensure that releases are made from the budgeted funds to the relevant organs of government as and when due.
On the 19th of July 2019, The Academy for Health Development (AHEAD -PAS) with support from dRPC-PAS, Paaneah Foundation and the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan organised the 1st annual national reproductive health legacy forum, in honour of late Prof Babatunde Osotimehin, at the Otunba Subomi Balogun Conference Centre-University of Ibadan in Oyo state.
The PAS project through one of her implementing partner South Saharan Development Organization (SSDO-PAS) sponsored Anambra and Enugu States to attend the International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) 5th International Conference on Public Health 2019 which held on 10th-13th July 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The spot check assessment conducted on the 255 prioritized PHCs identifies some key issues with regards to the implementation of the primary health care under one roof policy in the state.
The spot check further confirmed the fact that the 2019 Kaduna state health sector budget has no specific budget line for family planning activities. Only procurement of family planning/reproductive health commodities and consumable was captured in the Drug management agency (DMA) budget and allocated NGN 120,000,000 with no releases till date..
Following the spot check assessment of the 255 prioritized primary health centres (PHCs) key
finding were identified as challenges to childhood killer diseases (CKD) implementation in the
state.
