Overview:
BenueAID Community Development Initiative is a non-profit, indigenous grant-making organization established in 2024. It supports local non-profits to enhance community well-being and resilience, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Discretionary Grants:
These are emergency relief funds for individuals and communities in humanitarian crises. They allow BenueAID to respond to needs that arise outside its regular grant cycle.
Objective:
To address urgent needs swiftly, especially between board meetings or outside the annual call for concept notes.
Eligible Projects Must:
- Align with BenueAID’s focus areas
- Be rapid or short-term with clear outcomes
- Propose practical solutions to defined issues
- Have budgets under $3,000
- Support the organization’s mission

- Health and Well-being
- Good Governance and Social Development
- Media for Development (M4D)
- Criminal Justice
- Education and Skills Development
- Environmental Sustainability and Agriculture
- Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)
- Humanitarian Response
- Capacity Building
Eligibility:
- Registered Nigerian non-profits active for at least 2 years
- Proven experience in one or more priority areas
- Willing to follow BenueAID’s internal review process
