Call for Applications: Director – Education and Skills Data Challenge (ESDC) Initiative

About the Role

The Education and Skills Data Challenge (ESDC) Initiative is a flagship ADEA program supporting 30 African countries to strengthen education and skills data systems. The initiative focuses on improving the availability, quality, integration, and use of data across Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) and Labor Market Information Systems (LMIS) to support evidence-based policymaking and alignment between education systems and labor markets.

The Director will provide continental-level strategic leadership and oversee technical, political, and institutional engagement to advance Africa’s education and skills data agenda.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • A master’s degree or higher in education, economics, public policy, statistics, or a related field
  • At least 12 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in multi-country or continental programs
  • Strong expertise in education policy, data systems, and institutional reform
  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior political stakeholders
  • Fluency in English or French, with working knowledge of the other
