dRPC builds the capacity of Health Professional Associations

The development Research and Projects Centre, dRPC, works to strengthen CSOs, FBOs, CBOs, NGOs and Media associations working in health advocacy. One particular group of CSOs supported by the dRPC is that of Health Professional Associations. Recently the dRPC has received requests from professional health associations for capacity building support to strengthen their abilities in the area of leadership, policy advocacy and organizational development. The National Association of Nurses and Midwives, NANNM, National Headquarters wrote to request for capacity building in identified areas from dRPC.
In the letter signed by the Secretary-General, Comrade T.A Shettima, NANNM requested the dRPC organize training for its members nationwide to help promote the nursing and midwifery profession. In the letter, Comrade Shettima specifically stated:
”NANNM has identified areas of capacity building in leadership, policy development and advocacy to better position nurse leaders and managers in clinical and non-clinical areas contribute more innovatively to health improvement”. In response, the dRPC will be sharing its training Calendar with NANNM for buy-in and alignment.
