About the Programme
Applications are open for the Founders Fund Africa Creative Economy Accelerator 2026, a $1 million initiative supporting early-stage African startups building businesses within the creative economy. The programme is designed for founders developing innovative products, platforms, and services that address challenges in Africa’s creative industries and have the potential to scale across the continent. Focus areas include music, film and media, design, gaming, content creation, and creative technology.

What is Offered
Selected startups can receive:
- Investment of between $20,000 and $50,000, depending on the venture’s needs and stage of growth.
- Flexible convertible-note investment terms.
- Expert mentorship from industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and creative leaders.
- Strategic connections to distributors, platforms, partners, and customers across Africa and beyond.
- Access to a community of African creative entrepreneurs.
- Strategic and operational support to help founders develop and scale their ventures.
Who Should Apply
The programme is seeking early-stage founders who:
- Have at least one founder of Nigerian descent.
- Operate a business based in Africa and primarily serve African markets.
- Are building ventures within the creative economy, including music, film and media, gaming, content creation, design, or creative technology.
- Have a clear problem-solution fit and evidence of early market interest or customer validation.
- Have a scalable business model and a committed team.
- Are prepared to build their venture full-time and are interested in mentorship and strategic support alongside investment.
How to Apply
Interested founders should complete the online application form before 28 August 2026. The application is expected to take approximately 15–20 minutes.
Applicants should clearly explain the problem their venture addresses, demonstrate evidence of market interest, and show how the business can contribute to the growth of Africa’s creative economy.
