In Niger State, the Centre for Communication in Reproductive Health, CCRHS, a PAS subgrantee, is currently collecting data for FP scorecard production in the State.

In Lagos State, The Alumni Association of the National Institute, a PAS subgrantee, scorecard found out how COVID-19 and the End SARS protests have negatively affected FP services in the State.

Key findings revealed that three of the eight thematic areas (Governance & Leadership, Demand Generation & Behavioral Change Communication, and Supervision, Monitoring, & Communication) recorded 100% of the 20 indicators in the Family planning scoring sheet. There were improvements in 6 indicators, decrease in 5 indicators, while nine indicators remained the same.

Additional findings also revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic and ENDSARS protest played a significant role in reducing funding for family planning activities in the State.

PAS subs working on family planning and Primary Healthcare Under One Roof in Kano, Lagos, Niger, and the Kaduna States have commenced preparation for FP and PHCUOR scorecards to track implementation funding and gaps in these states.

In Kano State, a meeting was conducted to review the checklist for PHCUOR & FP scorecard development, agreed on indicators to be assessed, and Identified and agreed on the PHCs to be assessed. Stakeholders for the meeting were drawn from the Kano State Ministry of Health (KSMoH) and the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (KSPHCMB). The Director Planning Research and Statistics-KSPHCMB chaired the meeting; in attendance were the Program Manager SERICC, State Immunization Officer, Deputy State Immunization Officer, State M&E Officer, Supportive Supervision Focal Person, Deputy RH/FP Coordinator, and other stakeholders from the KSPHCMB. 

The stakeholders reviewed the checklists and adopted them. They also suggested that questions should be added to include finding out the number of facilities with Cold Chain equipment and the number of facilities with functional Cold Chain equipment.
