The Malala Fund has commissioned a refreshed Gender-Responsive Education Sector Planning (GRESP) analysis to assess how effectively education planning, financing, and implementation support girls’ education across six priority states: Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Kaduna, Kano, and Oyo. The study builds on dRPC’s proven 2022 methodology and will examine a decade of education policies, budgets, and outcomes from 2015 to 2025.
The analysis will focus on girls’ education rights, re-entry policies for adolescent mothers, education budgeting and expenditure quality, and global best practices in gender-responsive education planning. Through comparative assessment and policy analysis, the study will identify successful approaches and generate evidence-based recommendations to strengthen education systems and improve outcomes for girls. Findings will inform advocacy, policy engagement, and the development of a new Girls’ Education Policy Advocacy Agenda for the Malala Fund’s 2025-2030 strategy in Nigeria.
