Government Engagement and Capacity Strengthening

The development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) has cultivated over 30 years of impactful collaboration with government institutions, exemplified by our enduring partnership with Nigeria’s apex think tank, the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and other government ministries, departments, and agencies at national and subnational levels. Our work focuses on strengthening the government’s capacity to design and implement inclusive, responsive policies that address the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly women, youth, children, and marginalized communities. By engaging with NIPSS and other governmental bodies, we’ve introduced frameworks prioritizing civil society and citizens’ inclusion and responsiveness, fostering an enabling environment for sustainable development. Our approach integrates capacity strengthening with practical tools like leadership development, gender analysis, and evidence-based advocacy. Our collaboration with government institutions has empowered over a thousand senior government officials to mainstream transformative strategies into health, education, and economic policies. Our work facilitates dialogues, workshops, and technical assistance to ensure government initiatives reflect the lived experiences of citizens, enhancing accountability and effectiveness. This partnership model builds institutional resilience and aligns government priorities with community needs, creating a responsive ecosystem. Through these efforts, dRPC bridges the gap between policymakers and beneficiaries, cultivating an inclusive governance framework that drives progress and equity across Nigeria and the West Africa sub-region.
