The Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA) invites applications for its inaugural 2025 Policy Fellowship Program, aimed at enhancing evidence-informed policymaking skills among African policymakers.
Key Details:
Thematic Areas: Applicants can choose from three areas: Education, Health, or Agriculture.
Eligibility: Open to mid-level technical staff at government ministries, agencies, or departments in eligible West and East African countries. Lawmakers and their research staff may also apply.
Applicants must:
- Be fluent in English.
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree.
- Have experience in policy development or program management.
- Have good computer skills and own a laptop with reliable internet access.
- Secure written support from their employer.

Fellowship Components:
A one-week online course on evidence-informed policymaking, followed by five weeks of collaboration with a NIERA researcher to develop a research proposal.
Participants will receive a daily per diem of $50 during the workshop and a small proposal development honorarium of $1,000, conditional on attendance and proposal submission.
