The `R’ in our name dRPC is a big R for us. Research is an important area of focus to the dRPC and cuts across all our projects. Formative or baseline studies informs all dRPC interventions, including projects which specifically focus on CSO capacity building. Baseline researches take the form of community rapid assessments; we also conduct CSO capacity assessments or landscaping studies; constituency mapping; and felt needs problem identification. The dRPC also conduct policy analysis, gender audits and gender analysis. We also carry out budget work producing budget analysis, issue briefs and policy briefs on budget performance at state and national levels. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (M,E&L) are key functions carried out by the dRPC during project implementation where evidences of performance is looped back into the programming process through a purposeful learning mechanism. The dRPC also conducts evaluations as independent evaluators and third party assessors for development partners, government and CSOs for end of project evaluations; or third party monitors providing civil society insights into the performance of donor or government funded programs. The dRPC valorizes its research experience through the production of peer reviewed knowledge products.
