The National Health Dialogue organized by the Premium Times in partnership with PAS had PAS partner WAIPH-PAS Dr. Francis Ohanyido speak on a panel to discuss PHC services and community participation. This panel observed the role of PHCs in achieving universal health coverage and why it was imperative to adequately finance PHCs.
The theme is ” PHC financing: Role of state and non-actors.
The panel also discussed PHC services and the importance of community participation in holding the government accountable. Dr. Francis emphasized how WAIPH is working with PAS to promote the PHCUOR policy and how champions’ identification, training, and engagement are providing increased citizen participation and accountability.
Participants at this workshop included government, with special guest the Hon Minister of Health represented by the Director PRS FMOH, civil society, and the media.
PAS is supporting the advocacy call for improved financing for PHCs.
