The United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship Programme provides advanced training to mid-level professionals from developing countries in ocean affairs and the law of the sea. This fellowship includes both classroom and research components hosted at prestigious institutions worldwide.
About the Fellowship:
The program aims to deepen fellows’ understanding of international legal frameworks on marine affairs while equipping them with the skills needed to implement ocean governance strategies in their home countries.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be from a developing country.
- Between the ages of 25 and 40.
- Holds a first university degree and has relevant professional experience.
- Currently employed in a government or non-government position dealing with ocean affairs.
Fellowship Duration:
9 months (starting mid-2026)
