The dRPC works on the supply side of development programming and humanitarian response by strengthening the capacity of government Ministries, Departments and Agencies to incorporate civil society organisations into policy design, implementation and assessment. The dRPC’s long-term partner on the supply side, the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), has worked with dRPC since 2006 to train senior civil servants, convene policy dialogues, conduct joint research, and disseminate findings to key stakeholders for uptake and action.
Working with MDAs at sub-national level we strengthen government’s capacity to design and implement inclusive, responsive policies that address the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly women, youth, children, and marginalized communities. By engaging with NIPSS and other governmental bodies, we have introduced frameworks prioritizing inclusion and responsiveness, and fostering an enabling environment for sustainable development.
Our approach integrates capacity strengthening with practical tools like leadership development, gender analysis, and evidence-based advocacy. Our collaboration with government institutions has empowered over a thousand senior government officials to mainstream transformative strategies into health, education, and economic policies.
Our work facilitates dialogues, workshops, and technical assistance to ensure government initiatives reflect the lived experiences of citizens, enhancing accountability and effectiveness. This partnership model builds institutional resilience and aligns government priorities with community needs, creating a responsive ecosystem. Through these efforts, dRPC bridges the gap between policymakers and beneficiaries, cultivating an inclusive governance framework that drives progress and equity across Nigeria and the West Africa sub-region.
The development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) is registered intermediary non-profit organization established with a mission of strengthening the capacity (organizational and technical capacity) of civil society organizations to design and implement transformative and sustainable development interventions which engage government and address felt needs of the vulnerable and excluded such as women and girls.
