On behalf of the Senate Committee on Health, the Nigerian Senate and the 8th National Assembly, I write to recognize and appreciate the timely support of dRPC-PACFaH towards the actualization of the 1 % Consolidated Revenue Fund for Basic Health Care Provision Fund in the 2018 Budget of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
As part of the efforts to improve Budgetary Allocation to the Health Sector, the Advocacy for Child and Family Health, PACFaH sponsored the Senate Committee on Health to the South African Legislature to collaborate on legislative agenda on Healthcare delivery. The Federal Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Development Policy Research Center (dPRC), with the support of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation held a 1- day NGO/CSOs Stakeholders’ engagement on the 19th of July, 2018. The objective of the meeting was to discuss the existing task shifting and sharing policy (TSSP), identify gaps, barriers to effective implementation and provide recommendations as well as consider future implementation considerations.
Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria- Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health at Scale; Centre for Communication and Reproductive Health Services among other stakeholders have called on the 36 States of the federation including Federal Capital Territory, to domesticate the use of National Standard Treatment Guidelines, NSTG and Nigeria Essential Medicines List, NEML guideline to foster rational use of medicines at all levels of healthcare.
