Kano PAS coalition group supported the prevention of maternal and neonatal mortalities at the National level in Kano State as part of efforts to promote integrated healthcare services delivery at the national and sub-national levels.
With the support dRPC-PAS project, medical experts with decades of experience will be engaged to deliver the lectures on the significance of ANC during pregnancies.
The coalition also participated in the activities to commemorate the national safe motherhood day, PAS Kano coalition supported the State Ministry of Health to sensitize women on the Role of Ante-natal Care and Facility-based delivery in the Prevention of Maternal & Neonatal Mortalities at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.
The event featured presentations on the National Safe Motherhood Day by Hajiya Ramatu Jibrin, Maternal health by Dr. Aminu Magashi, and Neonatal health by Dr. Hadiza Ashiru.
Other presenters are Hajiya Ramatu, who made contribution on routnine immunization. Post Abortion care deliberations was also carried out by Dr. Aminu Magashi, while Childbirth Spacing by Hajiya Hussaina Muhammad. A total of 250 in -patient and out-patients; and 20 Health Care Workers from Bichi General Hospital were sensitized.
Outcome
- At the end of the lectures, a total number of 351 branded wrappers were distributed to the pregnant women that were attending ANC during the event to encourage them to sustain their visits for ANC .
