The Meaning-Making Research Initiatives (MRI) 2026 – Special Call for Female Scholars, hosted by CODESRIA, supports ambitious, collaborative research led by women scholars in Africa. Female-led research groups of 3–5 members are eligible for funding of up to USD 25,000 to implement a 16-month project aligned with CODESRIA’s 2023–2027 thematic priorities, including democratization, economic transformation, and ecology and society. The call aims to strengthen the visibility and leadership of women in African social science and humanities research, encouraging innovative and non-traditional knowledge production approaches.
