Applications are now open for Open Arts Fund, an initiative created to support artists and creative professionals with a focus on Northern Nigeria.
The Open Arts Fund aims to empower artists, collectives and creative projects that tell compelling stories, raise awareness and promote positive social change. Applications are open to individuals and groups whose work reflects the culture and lived experiences of Northern Nigeria.
Objectives
- Financially support creative projects in visual arts, literature, music, film, and more.
- Amplify marginalized voices and promote social inclusion.
- Encourage projects that bring attention to social and cultural issues.
Funding Information
- Total fund amount: ₦1.5 million.
- Projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving funds.
- They hope to support at least three projects, proposals with budgets of around ₦500,000 will be prioritised.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an individual artist or a creative group operating in Nigeria.
- The Project must focus on Northern Nigerian themes or issues.
- All art forms are eligible including visual arts, literature, music, film, and performance.
Application Requirements
- To apply, submit a project proposal of 1,500 words max detailing, project description, target audience, expected outcomes and timeline.
- A Budget breakdown from the start to the end of the project.
- Supporting Documents: Portfolio of previous work, CV, or group profile.
