dRPC , Federal Ministry of Education (FME) Train 30 Master Trainers on Safe Schools – For the Implementation of the National Policy on Safety, Security and Violence Free Schools in Nigeria across 744 LGAs

The development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) in collaboration with EiEWGN Partners supported the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) is to conduct the Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop for 30 Master Trainers on Safe Schools.

The training which held from the 5th – 9th of November 2023 at Sawalino Hotel, Keffi in Nasarawa State was targeted at strengthening the capacity of the Master Trainers on Safe Schools implementation to rollout the capacity building training of Education Secretaries and SSD Focal Officers across the 774 LGAs of Nigeria. This training was facilitated by FME Partners (dRPC, UNICEF, FCDO-PLANE, PLAN and SCI) who provided technical support since the inception of the SSD program in Nigeria in 2018. The uniqueness of this training was provided using delivery methods that were non-technology-driven towards mimicking similar conditions that exist at the field level thus totally doing away with any need for technological support such as projectors that would mandatorily require electric power.

The actual delivery methods included presentations, group work, role play, gallery walk, questions and answers, simulation, Scenario painting, and quizzes. The training at the LGA level is scheduled to begin in the second week of November 2023.
