dRPC builds Capacity of 18 more CSOs on Evidence Based Advocacy, Gender and Communication on GBV and Safe Schools

dRPC with support from Ford Foundation, through its three cohorts of CSOs Capacity Building on Advocacy on Safe Schools from 2021-2023, have supported 58 CSOs from 23 states across the six geopolitical zones to conduct sensitization and advocacy activities for implementing the National Policy on Safe Schools in Nigeria. The trained education-focused CSOs through the dRPC established CSOs Safe Schools Network conducted 50 sensitization and advocacy activities, including Safe School’s emergency response training, media conferences, radio programs, town hall meetings, advocacy visits to relevant MDA heads, and safe schools’ surveys in 14 states to reach 145 schools and over 550 students directly. Following this training, state CSO teams were supported to conduct community-based surveys in collaboration with the state Ministries of Education and Bureau of Statistics to generate evidence for advocacy on GBV and school safety in the states.
