The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Mrs. Pauline Kedem Tallen affirmed her Ministry’s commitment to ending gender-based violence and advancing women’s economic empowerment when receiving a delegation from the National Institute for policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and the development Research and Projects Center (dRPC), a local non-profit organization.
While welcoming the NIPPS-dRPC delegation, the Minister appreciated the research efforts of the dRPC documenting the experiences and challenges of Nigerian women and girls.
The NIPSS delegation led by Professor Dung Pam-Sha, introduced the policy analysis work of the National Institute as the apex Think Tank of Nigeria and explained the Institute’s long collaboration the development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) since 2003 in the areas of social policy review related to women and girls.
In her remarks during the visits, dRPC’s Coordinator Dr. Judith-Ann Walker explained the purpose of the visit and shared research reports of recent dRPC’s studies to the Honourable Minister. The Minister, in-turn, shared the Ministry’s research findings of the impact of Covid-19 on women-led small and medium scale enterprise in Nigeria. The Minister also called on all present to contribute to ensuring that the girl-child in every community enrols in school, attends school without missing days and most especially completes school.
